LAST AMERICAN METROPOLIS

Chicago is at a crossroads, it faces becoming the next Detroit or reinventing itself as the last great American metropolis. By exaggerating the city's authentic midwestern qualities and architectural innovation,  a new building typology is born that aims to remedy some of Chicago's ailments.

The typology is then applied to the Oakland neighborhood of Chicago's side side in in attempt to address the region's segregation and stagnation.
